Hyundai Dispatches Nearly 59000 Units In May 2025 In India
Review Overview

Hyundai recorded 43,861 domestic sales in May 2025 while the exports stood at 14,840 units; last month was affected by a planned manufacturing pause Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has reported total dispatches of 58,701 vehicles for the month of May 2025 with domestic sales accounting for 43,861 units and exports adding another 14,840 to the tally. The figures come during a month affected by a planned manufacturing pause at the company’s plant in Sriperumbudur near Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Production was deliberately scaled back due to Hyundai’s biannual maintenance shutdown which temporarily curbed availability of certain fast moving models in the Indian market. Despite the disruption, exports continued unaffected, sustaining the company’s momentum in global supply chains. As the company steps back into normal operations post shutdown, it anticipates a more stable outlook fuelled by easing geopolitical pressures and improving macroeconomic cues. The path forward hinges on restoring consistent delivery cycles across both domestic and international markets, now that plant activity is back on track. Commenting on the sales performance and other activities in May 2025, Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer, HMIL said

“We continue to witness consistent growth in our exports volume and this is a testament to the ‘Make in India, Made for the World’ philosophy that we passionately uphold. Going forward, we remain hopeful of a steady increase in demand for both domestic as well as international shipments” Earlier this year, Hyundai introduced the Creta Electric in India and it did help the brand to record the highest ever monthly sales for the Creta nameplate. Currently, the company is developing the new generation Venue ahead of its market launch later this year. It will receive a host of changes inside and out, in line with the latest Creta and Alcazar in terms of design.

However, the familiar 1.2L NA petrol, the 1.5L CRDi diesel and the 1.0L GDI turbo three-cylinder petrol engine will likely continue and they will be available with multiple transmission choices. Hyundai confirmed recently that it has lined up 26 new launches for India by FY30 including six all-electric models. The ICE range will witness new additions, facelifts and more.
