
The PV dispatch of Maruti Suzuki stood at 1,35,962 units in May 2025 while exports contributed to over 31,000 units Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) posted total sales of 1,80,077 units in the concluded month of May 2025, drawing its figures from the domestic market, export shipments and supplies to Toyota. Within the domestic market, the company dispatched 1,38,690 vehicles to its dealerships which also includes light commercial vehicles. Out of these, 1,35,962 units belonged to the passenger vehicle category alone. The Eeco added 12,327 units to the tally while the Super Carry commercial van recorded 2,728 units. The mini and compact car segments together accounted for 68,278 units. Among them, the Alto and S-Presso contributed 6,776 units while 61,502 units came from the group consisting of Baleno, Swift, Dzire, Celerio, WagonR and Ignis. In the same month last year, the combined figure for Mini and Compact cars stood at 78,108. Moving to the Midsize category, the Ciaz sedan clocked 458 units, bringing the overall passenger car volume to 68,736 units. The utility vehicles maintained steady traction with models such as the Grand Vitara, Fronx, Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, Jimny and Invicto accounting for 54,899 units.

The number shows a marginal year-on-year improvement over the 54,204 units sold in May 2024. In addition to the domestic retail figures, Maruti Suzuki supplied 10,168 units to other OEMs, slightly trailing last year’s number of 10,490 for the same month. Exports performed significantly stronger this time, reaching 31,219 units – well ahead of the 17,367 units sent out in May 2024. When combined, Maruti Suzuki’s total domestic dispatches and export consignments brought the monthly sales figure to 1,80,077 units, surpassing the 1,74,551 units from the corresponding period in 2024. Looking at the first two months of the fiscal year 2025-26, total volumes now stand at 3,59,868 units – higher than the 3,42,640 units recorded during April-May of the previous financial year.

The breakdown of year-to-date sales shows 2,80,743 units sold domestically so far, compared to 2,87,142 in the same period last year. Exports, on the other hand, climbed to 59,130 units, from 39,527 a year ago. OEM sales also moved up to 19,995 units in the current fiscal year to date. Maruti Suzuki is planning to introduce the e Vitara this festive season in India and it will be sold with two battery packs. It will boast a range of over 500 km.
