Roman Reigns will have a significant role in an upcoming film set to release this summer.
It has been a slow start to 2025 for former WWE Champion Roman Reigns, who has wrestled only three matches in the first five months of the year. Reigns beat Solo Sikoa on the Raw on Netflix Premiere in January, he competed in the Men’s Royal Rumble, and then he headlined WrestleMania 41 on Saturday.
During that WrestleMania 41 Saturday match, Roman Reigns lost because his “Wise Man” Paul Heyman turned on him and CM Punk in the match. Seth Rollins gained Heyman as an ally and got the win in the match.
Reigns appeared on the Raw After WrestleMania as well, which didn’t go well as Seth Rollins gained Bron Breakker as an ally. Since then, Reigns hasn’t been on WWE television.
Away from the ring, Reigns is taking on more acting roles, with recent rumors claiming that there could be interest in the Tribal Chief in an upcoming Street Fighter movie.
A movie that Reigns has already filmed is titled “The Pickup,” produced by Amazon. It’s a movie starring some big names like Eddie Murphy, Eva Longoria and Pete Davidson. Actress Keke Palmer posted a photo of Reigns on the set as well.
Amazon’s MGM Studios has announced that “The Pickup” will be released on August 6th on Amazon Prime Video. On the IMDB page for the film, Reigns is listed as his real name Joe Anoa’i and is seventh from the top.

Roman Reigns Wants To Make The Right Career Choices
While Roman Reigns is currently away from WWE, he has stated in the past that he will always be part of the company and the business of professional wrestling.
Prior to WrestleMania 41, the now 40-year-old Roman Reigns discussed making wise decisions, not just for his professional life but also for his family. It was Roman’s way of talking about how he approaches potential acting roles.
“[This business] is [in my blood]. There is nothing that I’ll ever do that will take me out of that position. I was born in this business, I’ll always be part of this business, similar to Dwayne [Johnson].
I think I’m at a point in my career where I just have to make all the right choices. You have to look at where the opportunities are and look at how you feel, where you’re at personally. What do all my hats look like?
I’m not just a wrestler, I’m not just an entertainer. I’m a husband and father as well. I have young children. There are so many different things to analyze and take into account. I just do it year by year, two years at a time, wherever we may be with whatever contract we’re in, but I don’t want to worry about five years from now when it comes to the business.”
Roman Reigns is not officially advertised for the WWE Money in the Bank PLE on June 6th, but a surprise appearance isn’t out of the question.
